ABOUT YOUR HOST
I am Marina, and I help women with chronic pain find what is actually driving it and get the relief to last.
On paper, I have been working on the musculoskeletal system for over 19 years. Sports therapist for Dunstablian Rugby Club in 2007. Manager of the NHS EDTC Mobility Clinic in 2008. NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist and GP Exercise Referral Specialist for Active Luton in 2013. Mentored by Dave O’Sullivan, physiotherapist for England Rugby, in 2025.
None of that is the reason I do this work the way I do.
In 2018 I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. Shortly after that I was so riddled with pain that I was taking morphine every three hours. I was clinically malnourished. I was using mobility aids, and on the bad days that meant a wheelchair. And I was told, by professionals, that it was downhill from here and that nerves do not repair.
They were working from the usual assumption that there was no resolve and I would have to live with this for the rest of my life. What actually changed things was going in and looking at the whole chain instead, treating what was driving it, and rebuilding in a specific order. That became The 3 R’s System: Recover, Remodel, Revive born from the fundamental ‘R’ which is the Root.
I am off the medication. No mobility aids. I drive, I work, I exercise, and I run with my little ones. Well. Behind my little ones.
What I believe: the site of the pain is rarely the source of the pain. Your pain is structural, neurological and emotional all at once and you were only ever offered one piece of that puzzle.
